Curriculum
Delivering a well-rounded education through the national curriculum.
At St. Laurence’s, all pupils engage in a broad and balanced curriculum as outlined in the National Curriculum by the Department of Education. In addition to academic learning, students are encouraged to participate in Gaelic games such as football and hurling, with opportunities to play both within their class groups and on school teams. Religious education is delivered in accordance with the Diocesan programme.
Gaeilge
At St. Laurence’s, we value Irish as an important part of our curriculum. Pupils enjoy learning Gaeilge through a variety of fun and engaging activities that build their confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

English
We place great importance on developing strong communication skills. In English, pupils build confidence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening through engaging and varied lessons.

Mathematics
We aim to develop strong numeracy skills and problem-solving abilities. In Maths, pupils explore number work, operations, patterns, geometry, measure, and data through engaging and practical lessons.

Environmental and Scientific Education (SESE)
In SESE, pupils investigate science, history, and geography through hands-on activities and projects. Lessons help pupils develop curiosity, observation, and critical thinking while exploring the world around them.
Arts (Visual Art, Music and Drama)
The Arts are an important part of life at St. Laurence’s. Pupils express themselves creatively through visual art, music, and drama, developing imagination, confidence, and teamwork.

Physical activity is valued at St. Laurence’s as part of a healthy lifestyle. In PE, pupils develop coordination, fitness, and teamwork through a range of games, sports, and movement activities.

Religion
At St. Laurence’s, Religious Education encourages reflection and understanding of values. Pupils explore key teachings and develop respect, empathy, and a sense of community in a supportive environment.
