A fantastic day for St Laurence’s in Croke Park as our boys defeated Oliver Plunketts by 7-05 to 4-11 in a thrilling contest. The day began with a wonderful send-off from the school, with pupils forming a guard of honour and cheering the team out the gate. The players showed tremendous skill, attitude and determination, battling to the very end. Senior Hurling Team
We wish our Senior Hurling Team the very best of luck as they take on St Oliver's Plunkett in the final of the Corn Tomás Mac Giolla Phádraig on Monday. Wellness Walk + Jersey Day Fundraiser
On Friday, 29th June, our school took part in a Wellness Walk to raise money for Breast Cancer Ireland and the facilities at Kilmacud Crokes. The event was held in support of Mr. Garry’s particpation in the Malin to Mizen Cycle. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we raised an impressive €1,873.35 for the fundraiser. All Ireland Chess Winners 2026 🏆👏
Congratulations to our chess team on winning the All-Ireland Chess Championship for an incredible third year in a row! We were privileged to host this year’s tournament and to welcome 16 schools from across the country, with students travelling from as far as Galway, Leitrim and Tipperary to take part. Irish Guide Dogs
We’d just like to say a big thank you to the Irish Guide Dog volunteers for calling into our school on the 15th of May. They did a brilliant job in raising awareness among the boys and showing the incredible work that they do in the community. It was a visit the boys won’t be forgetting any time soon!

Credit Union Quiz National Finals
Well done to our Credit Union Quiz teams who competed in the National Finals on Sunday last in the RDS. This is a wonderful achievement for the boys and we are very proud to be the only school in the entire country to have representatives in both age categories of the finals this year. 25,000 pupils entered this year's quiz and after successfully coming through the previous 2 rounds our boys competed in the National Finals involving 464 children from 116 teams! Congratulations to the boys who competed in the Feile Ficheall finals today in Our Lady’s BNS Ballinteer. 15 teams competed in the competition playing 6 rounds of chess. Friday April 17th Welcome back everyone. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter break. We have had a very busy week here in Saint Laurences BNS. On Wednesday we welcomed volunteers and dogs from the Irish Guide Dogs for the blind. It was a very informative visit and the instructors explained the work that they do and how they help people who are visually impaired or blind. National Tree Week 2026
🌳 National Tree Week 2026 is taking place this week, and we already have something exciting to share! Back on 24th November, Eoin Heffernan planted an acorn — and it has now sprouted! 🌱 As the 14th-century proverb says: “From little acorns mighty oaks grow.” This reminds us that small, humble beginnings can grow into something strong, significant, and lasting. What an incredible World Book Day we had in St. Laurence’s School last Thursday! The boys confidently shared summaries of their favourite books with their classmates, took part in a fun book swap, and proudly explained the characteristics of the characters they dressed up as. South Dublin Credit Union Quiz Champions
On Friday 6th February, five teams represented our school with great distinction in the local Credit Union Quiz. Congratulations to our U-10 and U-12 teams, who were crowned South Dublin Credit Union Quiz champions. They will now go on to represent the region in the Dublin competition in the coming weeks.
