Primary School Survey
Results and Information for Parents
The Department of Education and Youth conducted a nationwide Primary School Survey from 4 November to 16 December 2025, gathering more than 200,000 validated responses from parents and guardians, school staff and boards of management.

The survey asked about preferences for the future provision of primary education, including:
-
Co-educational or single-sex schooling
-
School ethos and patronage, including denominational and multi-denominational provision
-
Language of instruction, including English or Irish

The Department published both national findings and individual school results in June 2026. Our school has received its individual results, reflecting the views of parents and guardians who participated in the survey.
We are making the Department's information and our school's results available to parents for review. The results will help inform discussions around the future configuration of primary schools and explain the process for schools that may wish to consider a change.
